The results from the IMO 2003 have all been tabulated, the medal lines decided and here are the results:

Daniel Kane, 35 points, gold medal (Wisconsin)
Anders Kaseorg, 32 points, gold medal (North Carolina)
Mark Lipson, 27 points, silver medal (Massachusetts)
Po-Ru Loh, 36 points, gold medal, (Wisconsin)
Aaron Pixton, 33 points, gold medal (New York)
Yan Zhang, 25 points, silver medal (Virginia)

  • There were 37 golds overall, 69 silvers overall, and 104 Bronzes overall.
  • Cutoff for gold was 29 points, for silver 19 points, for bronze 13 points.
  • There were 3 perfect scores, 1 from China, 2 from Vietnam. Po-Ru was12th overall among all contestants.

The USA team came in 3rd among nations, (Bulgaria 1st, China 2nd, Vietnam 4th, Russia 5th) with 188 total points. Zuming is very happy with our performance.

Everyone on the team is happy and healthy. The kids (and I) with our guide) toured Tokyo yesterday. Today the kids are at Tokyo Disneyland, and the adults have a separate tour this afternoon. Tomorrow is the closing ceremony.
